The truth about Australia student visas right now
Two things follow from that number. The first is that most advice you will find online was written for a market that no longer exists. The second is better news: refusals are not random. They cluster around two causes, and both are things you can check and fix before you lodge anything.
- A Genuine Student statement that does not hold together. Your course does not obviously connect to what you studied and what you plan to do next.
- Money that cannot be traced. The balance is there. The story of where it came from is not.
That is most of it. Everything on this site is built around those two.
The other number
The other number, and what it actually means
Two numbers matter on this page, and they say different things. 37% of Pakistani applicants were refused in early 2026: that is the market you are applying into. 99% of the files we take on are approved: that is the published record of the consultancy behind this site.
Those two are not in conflict, and the gap between them is not magic. It is selection. We do not lodge every file that arrives. When a profile is not ready, we say so, and we do not take the fee. The 99% is what is left after that filtering, which makes it a fact about who we accept, not a prediction about you.
Any agency can put a number like that on a billboard. What should decide whether you believe it is whether they tell you how it was produced, and what it does not mean. This one does not mean your application is safe. Your own odds still come down to your Genuine Student story and your funds, which is exactly what the free checker looks at.

01Will I get refused? What are my actual odds?
About one in three Pakistani applicants were refused in early 2026, but your own odds depend mostly on your statement and your funds. The free checker gives you a specific answer with reasons, in about four minutes.
02How much does studying in Australia cost from Pakistan, all in?
Budget for tuition, around AUD 29,710 in living funds for year one, OSHC, and the AUD 2,500 visa fee. Most families find the total higher than expected. The cost calculator converts it into rupees.
03Which course and university should I pick?
Whichever ones you can actually get into and afford. The course matcher filters by your grades, English score and budget instead of showing you a list of famous names.
04Is my money and my file safe with a consultancy?
Fair question, given the market. Our fees are published on the consultants page, we do not take commission-driven cases we expect to fail, and we do not sell your data. Read how we work before you commit to anything.
05What is the Genuine Student rule, in plain terms?
It replaced the old GTE test in 2024. It asks whether your course is a sensible step in your career, not whether you plan to come home. Full explanation on the GS guide.
06Should I go to Australia, the UK, or Canada?
Depends on your budget, your course and your risk tolerance. None of the three is an easy approval any more. Our side-by-side comparison lays out all three, including where Australia is the weaker choice.
One note on timing
Australian universities take students in February and July, and the whole process runs 6 to 9 months once you count offers, CoE and visa processing.
That is not a countdown and we are not going to invent one. It just means that if February is your target and it is already September, this week is a better time to check than next month.
